
Ellen Möckel’s artistic practice, which is predominantly characterised by printmaking, explores grids, systems of order and their influence on analogue life and digital imagery. At its heart lies the question of how orientation and disorientation arise within established boundaries.
In 2025, EM was awarded second prize by BiMA for its entry in the ‘Art in Architecture’ competition for the Rostock University of Applied Sciences.
She completed her "Meisterschüler" at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig in 2021.
In 2021, she was awarded the Kickstarter grant by the Kunstfonds Foundation in Bonn.
She also holds a diploma in Graphic Design and Book Arts from the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig.
An 8 months stay at the workshop of Niels Borch Jensen took place in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Ellen Möckel began her studies at the University of Architecture and Design in Wismar
The artist lives and works in Berlin.
